before you start.
Does Video Bridge work offline?
Yes, with local AI providers. Transcription via Whisper (local), voiceover via Piper (local), reasoning via Ollama (local). Stock media and yt-dlp downloads need internet; everything else can run air-gapped.
What's the cheapest way to use it?
Free. Whisper-local + Piper + Ollama + Pexels/Pixabay/Freesound free tiers + a Groq free key cover every feature without spending a cent.
Does it replace Premiere?
No. Video Bridge is a panel inside Premiere. You still edit in Premiere — Video Bridge just does the parts AI is faster at.
My footage is confidential. Will it go to OpenAI / Anthropic / etc.?
Only if you pick a cloud provider. Set Transcribe + AI Reasoning to local (Whisper + Ollama) and nothing leaves your machine.
I edited a clip after transcribing — do I have to re-transcribe?
No. The per-source architecture means cuts / trims / rearrangements never trigger re-transcription. The transcript recomposes from cached masters in ~50 ms.
Which Whisper model is best?
For English and major languages → Whisper Large v3 Turbo (the default). Same quality as v3 Large, half the size, ~3× faster. For rare languages → Large v3.
Does it work on Windows?
Yes. The plugin runs on Windows + Premiere Pro. Apple Silicon Metal acceleration is Mac-only; NVIDIA CUDA is supported on Windows + Linux. CPU fallback works everywhere.
Can I undo Video Bridge's actions?
Yes — every action wraps in one Premiere undo group. Cmd-Z (Ctrl-Z) reverts the whole thing in one keystroke.
How does it compare to Adobe Sensei?
Adobe Sensei is locked to Adobe's cloud STT, one provider, no offline option. Video Bridge gives you 13+ providers, offline modes, model variant switching, per-source caching, and selection-scoped operations.
