Three seconds you do not get back
A Lottie animation that opens the Mool app in under three seconds.
A splash screen animation is one of the least forgiving briefs in motion design. It plays before anyone has decided to pay attention, it cannot be skipped, and if it outstays its welcome it becomes the thing people associate with the app being slow.
So the constraints come first. It has to be short. It has to loop cleanly, because you never know whether the app will be ready in one second or five. And it has to weigh almost nothing, because it is competing with the app itself for the same moment of loading.
Lottie made that possible. Vector animation played from a JSON file stays crisp at every screen density, weighs a fraction of a video, and can loop indefinitely while the app finishes waking up.
Within those limits it still had to mean something. The animation carries the idea of an individual journey in finance, so the first thing a user sees is not a spinner but the story the product is trying to tell.
